Eureka Seven Searching
Everyone's joining Twitter nowadays.

This time, I'm part of the herd.

AndrewSP37 on Twitter.  Check [info]komori_tifa's journal for info on the ACen room. I can't find any Mountain Dew Throwback. Random other statement here. Fuddruckers.

Those Fuddruckers!

  • Feb. 18th, 2009 at 5:19 PM
WTF is Jynx?

Well then..

There are no more Fuddruckers in Ohio.

You have no idea how disappointed I am. Well, all the more reason to trek to the Chicago and Baltimore locations during Anime Central and Otakon, respectively. Who's up for it?

COWBOY HAT!

Anime Hell showed the new Dr. Tran short last night (100% Ice). The whole thing, not just the first part that's on YouTube. Pure win. Then I got 3 hours of sleep. Not as much win.

I think I'll go to the dealers room now. Or soon. Or whenever.

Eureka Seven Searching

...or at least I was, then I realized that I forgot a whole bunch of stuff, like:

•Fullmetal Alchemist figures for signing
•Venture Bros S1 DVD for signing
•...Pajamas (how did THAT happen?)

So, I'm home now, and will be off again soon.

Also, the Drury's rooms are BIG.

And I need to post more here. My last post was before Otakon. >.<

COWBOY HAT!
Okay, Otakon's this weekend, I'm afraid of sleeping, and I'm not ready. Good thing I don't cosplay.

When I got home tonight, I saw a package for me next to the stairs. Guess what it was.

I really don't know what else to say right now.  So I'll leave it at that for now.

Also, Rax Roast Beef lives!

High Gravity
Holy crap, Telltale Games just announced a new episodic series. Joining Sam & Max and Homestar Runner, it's...

WALLACE & GROMIT!

They want my money. They're getting my money. First, I'm looking forward to the Sam & Max Season One collection on Wii, plus the first episode of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is imminent (for Wii as well). Now they have a third series based off the best stop-motion animated shorts ever!
I honestly forgot how much I liked Wallace & Gromit. Now, let's hope that these don't suck, though their track record on Sam & Max seems solid enough to hope for the best.

Ok. here's the Otakon part of the post. Who's up for Fuddruckers on our way to Otakon? I know I am.

MAP!

Which one? Pikesville seems to be the best bet. There are also some in Pennsylvania.

For those who don't know, as soon as I know I'm going to a city with Fuddruckers, I try to find some way of getting there to eat. I'm an addict. :P
This would have been much easier if Fuddruckers hadn't closed their Inner Harbor location about 2 years ago. And I promise, if we all go eat there, I will purchase and attempt to eat a one pound burger. You can then watch me eat like a glutton, and fail about 2/3 of the way through.

<Bender> It's gonna be fun on a bun! </Bender>

(Totally stole the above from the Homestar/Strong Bad game trailer)

Damnit, our internet died. Apparently the cable lines going up to my room and Kristi`s room don`t have a strong enough signal anymore (the connection has been off and on for the past week, and the tv picture has always been a bit fuzzy).

So, until the technician comes on Friday, I took one for the team, and moved the modem and router to our family room. That leaves that room without cable TV, but also leaves me with an offline computer, since it had a wired connection to the router. I'm typing this on my Wii, and it's a pain in the ass to type on the on-screen keyboard. Ugh.

Oh, if anyone sees a copy of Mario Kart Wii anywhere, help me out! My cousin in Costa Rica wants us to get a copy for her little girl, but it's nowhere to be found! According to GameStop, shipments have been halted for the last couple of weeks, either due to manufacturing problems (OSU location) or more money to be made in Europe (Lewis Center)

Hopefully I can find a copy before my mom and aunt leave for Costa Rica on Sunday.

Ok, I'm sleepy, and my hand is tired from all this point-and click shit. I need a usb keyboard for this. :/

Otakon's in 3 weeks! Oh yeah!

The mailman made me happy today.

And the finished product:

...well, not so finished. It's finished in the sense that I've done everything that I can do using only the materials in the box.  I may do a little painting sometime, especially the refboard, since it's so plain right now. There's a s handy color guide in the instruction booklet...in Japanese :P

I'm going to have to look into this some more.

EDIT: Can anyone translate this?

Here's what I've managed so far:
01    White
02    Blue(60%) + Black(40%)
03    ?-Red(50%) + Flourescent Pink(?)(30%) + White(15%) + Purple(5%)
04    ?-Grey(50%) + Blue(25%) + White(20%) + Red(5%)
05    Yellow-Green(50%) + White(30%) + Blue(15%) + Yellow(5%)
06    ?(80%) + Gold(20%)
07    ?(Green?)(70%) + Yellow(10%) + Black(10%) + White(10%)

Help?

Scary shit. Looks like it's going to miss me and Kristi just to the south, but...wow.  Hope everyone's safe.

Oh yeah, Futurama time.
Futurama's second DVD movie came out today...and I already bought it. What do you expect from a guy who has all four seasons and the first movie on DVD?

To another convention! Again!

COWBOY HAT!
So, I'm going to Otakon this year. I've been thinking about going for a while now, especially since ACen, and a vital piece (travel) may have fallen into place. Plus, I have to go, or else Kristi can't, due to some...stuff that she's mentioned herself. So I won't go into that here. Well, now I can start looking forward to another great convention! And another cash-sucker...lol, oh well. Only 58 days!

Plus, I've NEVER been to Baltimore before, so unlike ACen, the city will be completely new to me. Does that count for something?

The other day, Kristi and mom went out to Westerville for a medical appointment, and Kristi later told me that they passed by an empty lot on Polaris Parkway (east of I-71) with a sign proclaiming that a Raising Cane's is going to be built there!

HOLY CRAP A LOCATION THAT'S SOMEWHAT CLOSER TO HOME!

Freaking about time they decided to open a Cane's up on this side of town. I can get my fill on campus, but I've wanted one closer to home for a long time.

...and now, another YouTube vid for really no reason, showing the comedic genius of Colin Mochrie:
Ah, the hilarity of Whose Line...

Happy birthday to me. :)

No one shops here anymore.

Conan's Wine Tasting
On Friday, Kristi and I were in downtown Columbus, and we decided to take a look inside the Columbus City Center mall, just for kicks.

In other news, the Lennox AMC is showing the first Bleach movie, Memories of Nobody, on June 11th and 12th. Who wants to go see it on the 12th?

It's $11 per ticket, though (ouch!). Still, any takers?

For absolutely no good reason, here's the 6th ending of Bleach, which SHOULD be airing now on Adult Swim, but isn't, since it's been... "Viz'd" for time (just like Naruto's endings).
The song is My Pace, by SunSet Swish:

It's so...weird. And I can't stop watching it.

Sticking nails into things

Tip Taps...
Ok, I'm stuck. I need a good place to hand up my HALCALI-signed Eureka Seven poster. It's framed now, so I need a permanent place to stick a nail in the wall to hang it up (or whatever I should do to keep it up).
Renton Can't Lift
ACen was fun.

LOADS of fun...

Oh yeah. HALCALI+Eureka Seven = BEST POSTER EVER! Really sorry for holding everyone up while I was waiting in the Halcali signing line. I've really become a fan of them since hearing Tip Taps Tip in Eureka Seven. I just got a frame for it today, I'll post again about it later.

So there's that, and I met Laura Bailey, voice of Lust from FMA and Shin from Shin-chan. It was lucky, since I got in line with Kristi just because Mari Iijima was supposed to be there. Then I found out that Laura was going to be there, and I quickly went back to FUNimation's booth and bought the Shin-chan DVD set, and got a couple more Shin-quote fans for Kristi. She signed a fan and the DVD set for me, and even posed for a pic with one of them.

Laura's great (and cute). She really seems to love working on Shin-chan. Mari, unfortunately, couldn't show up at that signing, but...everything turned out much better by the end of the day, as Kristi can attest. :)

I didn't really go to any panels this weekend. Just the Mari Iijima Q&A with Kristi, and the last 15 or so minutes of Whose Line (which was infinitely better than the yaoi panel just down the hall. Just...ugh. There's only so much I can tolerate). On the topic of panels, Viz and ADV apparently bailed out of their own panels. Yeah, that really instills an aura of confidence in your business. Great job guys.
(UPDATE: turns out Viz canceled their panel BEFORE the con started, and ACen failed to update the schedules accordingly. Whoops.  My comment on ADV still stands, though)

Speaking of the yaoi (eww) panel and Whose Line, what the hell was up with where some of these panels were? Having them in the con center after it was closed, making us use a poorly-marked rear entrance? How about Main Programming 2 being all the way in the Hotel Sofitel? Oh, and the Skywalk blows (no wonder people call them the hamster tunnels), except that one part above the exhibit hall with all those strange images of a German village. Creepy, but it made for some fun picture time!

Concerts were awesome. Peelander-Z was much more fun than expected, Mari was great (and cute), and Halcali rocked! I ended up jumping along with everyone else at the end, I was so into it by then. :D Oh, and Halcali's cute too. What's with ACen and all the cute female guests?

The Embassy Suites was the best hotel I've ever stayed at, big thanks to Ayaka for putting it all together. :D

Fuddruckers on Thursday night was great, as I expected. Natalie now knows how awesome their burgers are.

Let's do this again sometime. :)

Ok, it's Chicago time today. That means a 7 hour drive, high priced gas, Fuddruckers, and Anime Central!  Yes!

Keeping this short, as we're leaving...NOW!

I'm not satisfied.

Hookers don't like to snuggle
Hmm.

Columbus is apparently the 2nd most sexually satisfied city in the US.

Hmm.

First place went to...Indianapolis.

Hmm.

Three statements:
  1. Indianapolis? We lost out to INDIANAPOLIS?
  2. The top five is rounded out by Fort Wayne, Cincinnati (Ohio and Indiana love sex, apparently), and...SALT LAKE CITY? UTAH? Credibility...fading...
  3. I demand some of that satisfaction.

That is all.

Shin Wars

Eureka Seven Searching
Well, I seem to be in a Star Wars mood today.

First, Spike TV's showing Episodes IV and V today. I'm bored at home, so I decided to watch. Never watched Episode V all the way through...

And it seems Adult Swim is riding Spike's coattails and showing the Robot Chicken Family Guy SHIN-CHAN Star Wars parody episode! Tonight at midnight! (and 3am...and online right now)

Shin did it first.

Late post...wait...KRISTI READ THIS!

So, Anime Central is coming up next month. First major anime convention I'm going to outside of Ohayocon (Matsuricon doesn't count). Hopefully my enjoyment of anime is enough to justify attending. Though the fact that multiple Power Rangers and the major VAs from Fullmetal Alchemist are going to be there IS exciting! :)

BREAKING NEWS!!

Speaking of the guests, they just updated the list tonight. Kristi...check out the new guests added to the list.
Guess who's going to be at ACen?

Mari Iijima.

Yep. She's going to be there... You can let out your screams of excitement and utter jubilation now, you Macross maniac. :P

Now that her excitement is out of the way...I'm looking forward to the trip part as well, especially since I'm driving and planning it. I'm taking the opportunity to explore the more advaned features of our GPS unit, as well as Google Earth. And because I'm planning this trip, sometime between Thursday night and Sunday afternoon, we will be eating at Fuddruckers. Depending on whether or not our gracious hosts for Thursday night want to have dinner with us, we will go for Thursday dinner or Sunday lunch.

I was going to say some other stuff, but I want Kristi to pay attention to the above. You Macross maniac. :D
